2010 Cherry Blossom Open Shia
Metro Orlando Judo Kiai takes home a 3rd place Team Trophy at the Feb. 20, 2010 Cherry Blossom Open! Congratulations to our Gold Medal winners: Natalie, Anna, Brandon, & Gabriel. Special congratulations to Natalie for placing in 3 divisions ( 1 gold medal & 2 silver medals), and to Gabriel for an outstanding performance at his first tournament! Also congratulations to Diana for taking a Silver medal, and to her tough opponent Stephanie Shekarchi on taking a Gold medal! Great Coaching job from Sensei Juan and Sensei Wiktor!

Japanese Martial Arts Clinic for Pennsylvania High School Students
On Feb. 5, 2010 Metro Orlando Judo Kai hosted 22 members of the Hempfield Pennsylvania Japanesse Club for a workshop on the Japanese Martial Arts of Judo, Aikido, and Iaido.

Kodokan Judo Clinic
On Feb 7, 2009 Metro Orlando Judo hosted a Competition Judo Clinic with Sensei Yasutaka Ohkawa. Sensei Ohkawa is a former All Japan College Champion, as well as a 2-time US Open Gold medalist. Judoka from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee were in attendance. Mr. Ohkawa returned to Japan to become an Judo Instructor for Tokai University. Everyone had a great time, and we hope to see Sensei Ohkawa back soon.

Judo demonstrations in Central Florida
Metro Orlando Judo Kai has been promoting Kodoakn Judo in the Central Florida community for over 5 years. We were the only Judo Club in Central Florida asked to perform at the Orlando Japan Festival, which was sponsored and attended by the Japanese Consulate General. Metro Orlando Judo Kai has also peformed for the University of Central Florida (UCF), and for the Orlando Chinese New Year Celebration in front of an audience of more than 300 people.

November 2009 Trip to Japan
Sensei Clark visited Japan in November where he attended the Kodokan Cup Tournament in Chiba, as well as visiting the Kodokan, and Tokai University where he met the head coach, the famous Sato Sensei and Yamaguchi Sensei.
